are you saying that accidental deaths don't count? or that the problem isn't negligent idiots because they make up such a small portion of the deaths? what proportion do they make up of the 75K in yearly non-fatal wounds? does it matter?
per the stats you provided, a HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE get shot every year in this country. 274 a day. that is a public health crisis.

I saw a plenty of reports on this shooting here & in the NYT. it was pretty obvious from the start that this was a gang beef, because it was NOLA and the intitial reports featured the infamous black man in a white t-shirt.
