Co-Workers Clipping Fingernails: CONDEMN OR ALLOW?!?.
Another vote for 10/11 - an urgent fix of a jagged edge/broken nail is reasonable to avoid further problems, but all-out grooming is gross. I dislike seeing hair brushing at desks/on buses, especially when the brusher cleans their brush and drops the hair on the ground/floor. Again, a quick touch-up is fine, but more really should be handled privately.

State Sues Florist Who Refused Service to a Gay Wedding.
"creative expression" feels fishy here. It seems that if the customer is completely interchangeable - another person could go in and request exactly the same service/product for the same wedding (without mentioning the gay part) and be served, then GIVE those flowers to the gay couple, there doesn't seem to be any particular "creative expression going on.
As a counter-example, you couldn't change out someone getting a portrait painted because that creative endeavor is specifically connected to the person served.
And what 40 said.

SL Letter of the Day: My Best Guess.
17 > 15 & 16. Unless he is doing primary parenting for the (how many?) kids (who presumably are all under 7), then she has been bearing that burden in addition to the business partnering and the busybody sex. Assuming for a moment that LW and wife are awesome partners and equal and respectful, she would likely be massively stressed out because she wants the business to succeed but knows that someone has to keep up with the kiddies too. She's succeeding at the "Having it All" but since the sex is problematic, she's seen as "ill" or "sick".
A couple's counselor to draw out whether these are issues first is much better than jumping to some "wimmen's hormones" issue.

Be Careful What You Wish for on Prop 8 and DOMA.
@7 Goldy: "Race is bullshit. An invention. But gender is physiologically real." - Wrong. Not only is gender socially performative (see Judith Butler), but the ways that we determine sex are also nebulous (see Castor Semenya and intersex people) and based on ideological framings of biological measurements of hormones, chromosomes, genitalia, and secondary sex characteristics.
But your politically-oriented concern is understandable, and I agree with your assessment that there could be a risk to this. I agree with others that striking down DOMA is something that can and should be done by the Supreme Court because that is a federally imposed barrier that overrides state decisions. If they truly support states' rights in this, then DOMA needs to go.

What Do You Think of the Bronies Trailer?.
I'm fine with bronies and support how they're (largely) queering masculinity, but this particular documentary displayed a lot of "boys taking girls' cool things" and significantly undercovered female fans*. If this were presented specifically in a gender commentary context, it would send a stronger message.
* I've seen some definitions of "brony" as a fan outside the target demographic, whether by gender or by age, which includes older female fans.

More George W. Bush Art!.
Those grapes kick ass. I'm more impressed with his artistic ability now than before. Again, I'm not thrilled that people are using this as an opportunity to snigger about him and seek catharsis for his terrible presidency. It's his private hobby, he never put them out there.
