Awww, I love it too, #1. Hate the opening scene though. which reminds me of something - how much we've changed our attitudes towards animals (although there is still a lot of cruelty around). I recently was trying to watch the 1961 film Mondo Cane. I couldn't get through the opening credits. People used to treat animals (dogs, in this case) as something much less than a life, a sweet life, a feeling life. And other people could watch the abuse pretty much without comment. If there's one thing we do better now than in the good old days, it's that. Go ahead. Try watching the movie. It's on Youtube. I saw it in its entirety as a youngster. Can't and won't watch it now.

I would support a Police Reports Illustrated rendering of this.

Awww, I need my government-funded insulin for all that sweet syrup I just took in. Its kind of funny how abandoned animals get treated better than abandoned people do in this town - you know, like when you see signs about future, non-existent internment camps by artists, but then see nary a protest or march about real, rat-infested, homeless camps. Thanks Poopie for bringing that realization to mind.

My wife recently called the police because on her drive home one night she saw two dogs stuck together at the ass, and in her naiveté in regards to the mechanics of dog mating, she thought some jackass had cruelly glued the dogs together for a laugh.

@7 What the hell does any of that have to dow ith someone taking in a stray animal? Is it equally amusing that you spend more time complaining about things on the internet than you do trying to improve them in real life?

@7

I can buy, beg, borrow, or even steal if I get hungry enough.

an abandoned dog has far fewer options when it comes to not having anything.

@7- a dog is far less likely to rob you blind for meth or heroin.

Meh. Yet another uplifting I, Anon. No more passive / aggressive bitching here... I'm surprised, too, since Sydney Brownstone writes these things.

Very nice story and I'm very happy both you and the puppy found each other. But just make sure you keep the canine on a leash or the white dorks may get upset.

Please wait...
