You and I are senior citizens. I heard you speaking to a clerk in the University District. I said your accent is very musical and asked what other language you can speak? I enjoy languages and respect multilingual people. You grew angry and indicated it's none of my business. I quickly apologized. You remained angry, and I felt terrible. Yet I wonder what is happening if we can't share our appreciation for the diversity of languages that make our country special?
