Great line up! Indeed! I'm kinda Anti-Gorge Amphitheatre.

But cool.

Bjork, Neko, Manu.... I think my head just exploded from excitement. That's just about the only lineup that would get me to the Gorge.

Here's to hoping that Bjork can bring her A game this time. When I saw her on the Pier a few years ago, it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen, with her leaving the stage about half-way through, and offering no apology whatsoever. While I felt bad that I wasted $60 on the show, I felt really bad for the guy who bought my 2 extra tix for $300.

That show soured me to Bjork (whose music I love, and own every album she's ever produced) in ways that I'm still not over.

Let's hear it for Mirah!

Hear hear Tim. Will Oldham, while a great musician and a vision in white, played waaaaaay too long before Bjork and she did a far too snappy 30 (?) minute set. My boyfriend and I were extremely disappointed in her show. Perhaps being the last show on her tour was part of it? Whatever the case, I don't think we are over it yet either.

@5: hooray for mirah!

So no friday show this year? I guess I will just spend that day "camping."

That's a pretty decent oldies package show there, Dick Clark. No Fabian, though? What gives?

Haven't you heard? 90s nostalgia is the mandatory theme for all major music festivals this year.

What's wrong with the Gorge? Would you rather go to Key Arena, or *shudder* White River?

BAD BRAINS! what the fuck?

and, to naysayers of the gorge: it is actually a magnificent spot to see a show, even though it is a pain in the ass to get there. book a room early in either ellensburg or moses lake to avoid camping.

sasquatch is good times. i'm kind of bummed that there isn't a single band on the bill that i don't want/need to see. come on, HOB, GET RADIOHEAD.

I'm very disappointed. Last year's lineup matched any festival, but I don't think Bjork and the Beasties are inspired choices.

I'll probably go Sat. for Arcade Fire, Hold Steady and the Thermals, but it seems like realistic adds would include: Radiohead, Wilco, Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, Decemberists and Tapes n' Tapes.

@13...I didn't ask for $300, I merely placed my extra tix on eBay, and that's what was bid.

for less money i can go to the block party AND bumbershoot and see more and better bands...or the same ones. this is a nice festival for the suburbs though.

timothy,

and willing buyers makes you less of a scalper... exactly how?

i can understand a post to craigslist charging a bit more (a few bucks) for your trouble. but charging over twice the face value? come on. and ebay's no excuse. you can use buy it now or end an auction to the current highest bidder at anytime. but, you know, to each their own. (sorry for the slight off-topic post.)

@14, what do you mean, "realistic"? like
them or not, there's nothing unrealistic
about these acts playing this festival?

i'm not really into festivals but, i think
i'll be going. i'd rather see the smaller
acts in smaller venues but, that's never
gonna happen with bjork or the beasties.
both of which i've never seen. i'm also
stoked to see the bad brains(!), mia,
ghostland and interpol.

"infrequent"...what the hell is wrong with someone putting tickets up on ebay and making twice the face value from someone that wants to pay it? what's wrong with scalping tickets either? grow up. are you the mother teresa of reselling concert tickets?

M.I.A. Fantastic.

How, though, did she get her naughty visa un-revoked?

the practice of ticket scalping is one i generally frown upon, whether done by a professional scalper or a ticket buyer who happens to have a few left-over tickets. in theory i am against any price gouging (be it at the gas pump, by a monopoly, oligarghy, etc...), but find it especially repulsive when in practice it has to do with music or art. and while i'm not one to advocate following a law just because it is a law, this seems to be a case where most people value the fact that scalping is illegal.

i don't think i'm mother tereasa of anything. i believe by this uncreative insult you are implying that either 1) i am not of sufficient character to judge (since i am not holy, like mother teresa), or 2) that you resent that someone would expresses distain over the practice of ticket scalping at all.

but we change social behavior by expressing our opinion. and i'm just expressing an opinion here (maybe not even a popular one). i don't like it when people litter -- even cigarette butts -- and i don't i like it when people scalp concert tickets -- even if they only did it once. there are other things i don't like as well.

@20, its a realistic possiblity (and expectation) that all of those acts could be added, given that they will all be out on tour at the time (and playing Coachella). The first day of Coachella is a much more impressive lineup than Sasquatch!'s 2-day lineup.

I could care less about Bad Brains and MIA, Sebadoh are here next week and Peaches is availiable for Sasquatch (and playing Coachella). Ghostland played the KEXP BBQ this summer, and Interpol played White River the summer before. Both were very good, but you could have seen them if you wanted to.

Last year's lineup was awesome, but this year's is a disappointment so far. It's an expensive weekend, and I hope the organizers will make some impressive additions in the next couple weeks.

I don't understand why The Decemberists aren't up. Maybe they'll be a late add, but they're doing Coachella and it seems like they'd be at Sasquatch.

I don't know what Björk show at the Pier everyone else attened those couple years back, but she played for at least an hour. Oldham did play for too long, though.

The Decembrists were at Sasquatch (and I think the year before also) last year guys...sounds like they're moving up to Coachella. And frankly, I'd rather pay Sasquatch prices, for awesome bands who are on the way up like Ghostland Observatory and Grizzly Bear rather than Coachella prices for overinflated egos. Kinda like preferring college sports to the pros. C'mon, they had Madonna at Coachella last year, not exactly the indie-rock queen.

Ghostland played the KEXP BBQ, which was quite affordable. Grizzly Bear played last Friday ($10).

I agree with the principle though, and last year's lineup was great - in my mind, it compared favorably to Coachella. On the other hand, Bjork and the Beasties are in their sunset years? Adding Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Tapes n' Tapes, Black Keys, Peaches, Blood Brothers would raise the bar a lot.

I'm just saying that the lineup does rise to last year's standard, and the additions need to be more than just a couple Yetti stagers.
