??!! 500 Pine Block Party

Yo, has anyone heard about the Block Party planned for what was formerly the 500 Block of East Pine Street? Rumor has it that a celebration of the block-that-was is in the works; a send-up of the glory days, replete with cardboard cut-outs of Bimbo's, the Bus Stop, Kincora and the like. I'll post more info as soon as my source texts me back, but in the meantime, who remembers watching that block be demolished? It went from a thriving nightspot to a bombed-out looking shell (picture a building facade with a hamster nest of bulldozer detritus behind it) to a parking lot, in what felt like minutes but was, I guess, a matter of days.

But, apparently, it's going to be in the Havana parking lot, and not in the actual parking lot that used to be 500 Pine.

What a fuckin' joke!...What do those hipster lemmings know about 500Pine? Back then there were no fixed gears polluting the entrance, There was no bad mash-dj's polluting peoples ears, and American Apparel hoodies were non-existant. That party was a BAD HIPSTER RAVE.
