Last night brought the Pet Shop Boys' Pandemonium tour to the Moore, and it was glorious. Set against a sporadically cascading backdrop of white cubes (which also served as projection screens for the show-length video art), the show commenced with Chris and Neil entering the stage with boxes on their heads, alongside dancers who also had boxes on their heads. (See above photo by Stranger Flickr buddy evil robot 6.) I think the boxes were meant to symbolize individual pixels (pixelated imagery was a big theme) but mostly the various boxes just gave us all something to look at while the "band" (one man at a computer, one man a mic, four hilarious backup dancers) rolled out the hits, presented in state-of-the-art new Pandemonium mixes.
Personal highlight: "Two Divided by Zero," one of my earliest PSP faves, and one that I never, ever thought I'd get to hear live. (Runner-up: "Go West" and "King's Cross," for they are both so gorgeous.)
Personal lowlight: The swampy heat that steadily enveloped the packed room, which eventually became unbearable.
