The Audit: Katsu at Seattle Street Art Biennale

Posted by on Tue, Sep 14, 2010 at 11:03 AM

One huge part of graffiti that is largely ignored by the general public is the idea of "getting up". Tags, both large and small, are a vital part of gaining notoriety as a graffiti artist. One of the most innovative ways that writers get up is the fire extinguisher method. Using a re-purposed fire extinguisher, writers can tag massive swaths of wall in no time at all. The Katsu tag below from the Seattle Street Art Biennale (more photos Here) is the perfect example of a well done, distinguished fire extinguisher.

Cue assholes completely unwilling to invest anytime in to researching street art/graffiti: "writing your name is just not art". Looks Nice.

canewithwheel - Yeah I'm surprised this hasn't brought the crazies out of the woodwork. I was sure it would.

If you want to example of more "perfect examples" of Katsu's handiwork you should check out the wooden pole at South Lake Union Grill's patio.

Truly amazing work that whole "write your name on things" stuff.

Please do more!

Here's another cool Katsu installation. It's at the City Hostel.
