You gotta love it when two of Seattle's premier electronic music crews get together and throw a party. It's even better when they cram that party into the perfectly intimate and vibe-heavy Electric Tea Garden and book Gadi Mizrahi. On Friday night Decibel and Uniting Souls teamed up to do just that, and naturally provided one helluva dance party. Mizrahi, a founder of the esteemed and taste-making powerhouse label Wolf + Lamb, has built up quite a reputation as an upper echelon and eclectic interpretator of deep and sexy late-night house music. He lived up to the hype as well, playing a nearly three-hour set ranging from straight up disco to some pretty heavy Dirtybird-style techno, with layers of funk and undeniable rhythm present throughout the entire performance.
It was a packed house early on with gyrating limbs as far as the eye could see, and by the time Gadi dropped Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence," sweat was literally dripping from the walls. This night was yet another testament to what a serious little hotspot Seattle has become for quality dance music. With more headliners rollin' through on the regular and clubs upgrading and catering specifically to the electronic music experience, Seattle's more cracking than ever before. Nice work to all involved with putting this event together and to Pezzner and Deepvibez for keeping the party going strong from beginning to end. Can't wait to do it again.
