Holiday Hardcore: The F.U.'s My America


Great record. My vote for the second best Boston HC album of that era, right behind SSD's "Get It Away."
Oh yeah, regarding your last comment... a lot of those records were LP's, sold as such, were 12" and played at 33 1/3 - they just ran for a total of 15 or 20 minutes. No one cared - paraphrasing Henry Rollin's description of Black Flag's "First Four Years," these record were worth three or four normal album's worth of anyone else's material.
Also, with hardcore 12 " EPs and singles, the music sounded really fucking cool -- hearing the bass ripping through the Cherry Red single of "Too Drunk To Fuck" makes me want to smash out windows! This "summer" I've been getting out all my favorite HC and punk records lately, and I think I owe it to your postings, Derek. Thanks!
FU's Kill For Christ is easily in my top ten HC EPs.
