UGH. LOOK AT THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE ---->

It's the time of year when the Pacific Northwest turns into the Swamp of Sadness, and we all do our best to not drown in the constantly gray and wet misery just like Artax did. RIP.

What are you doing to prepare? Besides the obvious (anti-depressants! vitamin D! exercising under very bright fluorescent lights!), I mean. This weekend I started making a pretty good sonic pick-me-up to have on standby when the cranky starts kicking in. So far it includes Torche's latest, Harmonicraft (sorry I won't shut up about this record), Japandroids' Celebration Rock (which I didn't know I liked until last week—silly me!), Blue Scholars' Oof! ("Driving with my feet, yabba dabba doo!"), some OpIvy, some Hot Water Music ("Trusty Chords!"), some Atom and His Package (duh), some Ted Leo ("It's all right, it's all right, it's all right" 100 more times), and a few other totally predictable, but really great upbeat tracks.

But I want more! Or maybe you need more! Let's help each other build the most amazing, positive, playlist in the history of the world so the Swamp of Sadness doesn't take us!

"FIGHT AGAINST THE SADNESS, ARTAX! PLEASE!"

I'm going to put Dum Dum Girls aside till it clears up a bit, and blast The Coup's "Sorry To Bother You" and Leo's "The Tyranny of Distance" for a while.
