They originally planned to open a food truck, but husband-and-wife co-owners and cocktail enthusiasts Mari and Walter Lee ended up going straight to bricks-and-mortar with their "Urban Tiki House and Taiwanese Cantina"—a place that "reflects the two dominant ethnic cultures of Los Angeles—a city of immigrants (and where we grew up!)." From the bar: mai tais, Singapore slings, and more, made with fresh citrus and pineapple juice (they say that, "Incidentally, 'tiki' was invented in L.A., as well, by Don the Beachcomber, in 1934"). Chino's is where Oasis Cafe used to be on Capitol Hill.
