Ubuntu Street Café
The stated mission of Project Feast is "to transform the lives of underserved refugees and immigrants by providing pathways to sustainable employment in the food industry and opportunities for our customers to learn and explore ethnic cuisines and cultures." Founded in 2013, the program features a rotating menu of cuisine from all over the world, and all profits from the business are pumped back into training programs for participants. The program (accredited by Highline College) launched Ubuntu Street Café in March 2017, which serves as both a classroom and a café. It is open to the public, and currently includes cuisine from Ukraine, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Iraq, Burma, Mexico and India.
