Everyone says this French bakery near Delancey in Ballard is great, and Stranger reader-reviewer J. particularly loves the kouign-amann, "which is like crack pastry—salty, sweet, chewy, and flaky all at once." The macarons also make people rave.

Best Macaroon in the city

This place is amazing. I went their today and just devoured a couple French Macaroons. It's as close to Paris as you can find. Bakery Nouveau macaroons are good, but Honore's are better. They are comparable to Francois Payard's macaroons in New York. Amazing! I bought one in every flavor!

I've had excellent coffee and pastry from this place. They make Canneles which are really hard to find any where. Also really good croissants, danishes, ect. Something called Kouign Amann which is like crack pastry, salty, sweet, chewy and flaky all at once. Nice macaron as well, a little larger than typical with good flavor, especially the lavander chocolate. Stark, simple, stylish interior, with limited seating. A little of the beaten path, go find it.
