While trying to get some distance from his fragmenting home life, a surveyor discovers something markedly unpleasant lurking in a remote patch of Irish woods. What’s worse, said markedly unpleasant thing sure seems to enjoy the company. The plot may be thin, but debuting director Lorcan Finnegan’s creepy outdoor visuals are impressively disorienting—even before the protagonist starts heedlessly chowing down on mushrooms. Note: If you have an aversion to strobe effects, stay far, far away.
