Meh. "F**k the System" by System of a Down makes all these look timid.
2
Meh. "Endless Blockades For The Pussyfooter" by GISM makes every protest song in the world look timid.

no Gil Scott Heron? The revolution will not be televised cause the corporations OWN all television.

Meh, "Tear their syphillitic vaginas to pieces" by GISM makes "Endless Blockades For the Pussyfooters" by GISM look timid.
5
I was going to complain about this terrible, counter-revolutionary list, but fortunately someone brought up G.I.s.M.
6
Open Your Eyes by Lords of the New Church. "The prisons are full while the rich still rob" and more great lyrics.
7
yawn.. your revolution is a novelty
8
Hire someone who knows something please.

Coup D'Etat - Circle Jerks
Let's Lynch the Landlord - Dead Kennedys
Death or GLory - The Clash
Get up Stand up - Bob Marley
Requiem - Killing Joke
Street Fighting Man - Rolling Stones

without those, your list is sad.
9
Hazy Shade of Criminal - less predictable pick by PE.

Gang of Four congrats.

MC5 - sure, along with Iggy.

Pistols - absolutely. 'The fascist regime that made you a moron' is about the best of all time lyrics.

James Brown and
Woody Guthrie- of course

Cat Power and no Bob Dylan? hmmmm.

Tom Petty - The Last DJ

Neil Young - This Note's For You.

ok, sorry about opening comment. It's a blogging error.

God save the queen? Come on guys....

I always wonder why no one ever lists the Coup, given the fact they're one of the few contemporary rap groups that deal with the issues being raised by the OWS directly, and have been for the last 10 years. I mean I could dust off some golden oldies, but I'd rather listen to something a bit more on point.
13
Mr. Lif - Phantom

Lords of the New Church sing a lovely ditty called, "OPEN YOUR EYES".

They scare us all with threats of war,
so we forget just how bad things are.

You will never hear this on the radio during an ellection year.

I am down with the multiple posts for "open your eyes"... though it does not really hold up so well for me.

I prefer:
Spacemen 3 - Revolution

(though I am more for evolution and change rather than a revolution)
16
You know people are still making music. Get some Jasiri X on this list.
17
Zimbo: S3's "Revolution" was on my list, but, after an agonizing decision-making process, didn't make the cut.
18
"Welcome to the Occupation" too obvious?

You are mad and educated
Primitive and wild
19
Democracy by Leonard Cohen
20
Only one entry recorded in the 21st Century.

Missed, point, etc.

Please wait...
