@1, yes indeed. And it did not do too well...so, there was another Mega Mart which opened in the (PP) Market next to the Three Girls Bakery. Hmmm, it too did not do well so it closed hence my thinking Sub Pop made this a temporary 'pop up' shop. If that does not put an exclamation on record stores becoming extinct *sniff* - or at least ones selling only new product.
Are there any bands with girls in them at Saturday's event? I know most of the bands in that line up and it seems like a pretty huge bro-fest for the most part, with like two or three girls in the entire thing? I find that odd, especially considering they've signed plenty of bands with at least one girl in them. Seriously, am I like the only girl who really prefers music made by girls these days? It's so fucking weird to me.
@4 - Hello, I am also a girl who enjoys music made by girls, so I guess there are two of us now! 'Tis a pretty dudely lineup for the Jubi, but I think it's also supposed to lean in the classic Sub Pop/rock n' roll direction? Since L7 and Fastbacks aren't getting back together for this, I guess just try and have fun anyway? Maybe if you squint Father John Misty will look more womanly.
I plan on going and love a lot of the bands in the line up. But there are a lot of newer Sub Pop bands playing, so I don't think that's an excuse. Of course, maybe I'm just bitter (better say it before someone else does!) because Sub Pop once rejected signing my band since, "They'd already signed a lot of girl bands that year." So where are they?
