To the woman sitting next to me at the Neil Young concert: I paid $100 for a ticket to hear Neil Young sing. I did NOT pay $100 to hear you sing along with him. Guess what? We ALL know the lyrics to his famous songs, but that does not mean that we should all sing along while he is in concert. I don't know why you thought it would be a treat for those around you to hear your rendition of Neil's songs while he sang them. Aside from it being unbelievably rude and inconsiderate, you are not a good singer. Sometimes a performer will invite the audience to sing along. Usually this is conveyed by the performer holding out the mic to the audience or making an explicit verbal suggestion. Neil Young did not do that. Next time, try paying attention to those sorts of clues from performers when you are at a show. Also, look around to see if anyone else is singing along or giving you dirty looks. And shut the fuck up.
