The Supreme Court Ends Our State's Unconstitutional Nightmare

...And not one comment on the regressive nature of the Transportation Budget that came out before this lawsuit.

Not one question to one of the lawmakers in Olympia, nevertheless to any of the plaintiffs of the lawsuit, regarding what kind of taxes and fees they'd like to bring to the table.

Not one question, comment, or suggestion as to how to fix the regressive nature of our tax system.

Goldy, I thought you and The Stranger were advocates for fixing the regressive nature of our tax system? I thought you weren't just a shill for more taxes of any nature? How about some actual reporting?

BWAAHAHAHAHA!

You could not be more wrong about that. The more regressive the better! They get boners when ungodly high sales tax measures are proposed.

1, because none of those things are topical to the court's decision, which is the point of the article.
5
@4 The ideas may possibly be not topical to the decision itself, but they are topical to the lawsuit upon which the decision was cast. And, since you can't separate the decision from the lawsuit, then the topics I brought up ARE topical to the decision.

But, who gives a flying fuck what taxes could be passed, right? Just as long as we pay MOAR REGRESSIVE TAXES, right?

"Just as long as we pay MOAR REGRESSIVE TAXES, right?"

RRIIIIIGGGGHHHHT!!!!! Now you've got it.

The Stranger is nothing but a pro-sales-tax megaphone.

That's why they leak pre-cum when anyone brings up Sound Transit. It isn't for the reasons they said at the time. In 2008 they said the trains would further The Homosexual Lifestyle, so the twice-weekly walks of shame only would be for a couple of blocks to a train station. The truth is they wanted the high sales taxes. Just ask 'em, they'll admit it.
7
@6 Prove me wrong. Show me a tax they haven't loved. Other than bicycle tax.

As much as I disagreed with the ruling, there is a bright side to it. Now the Democrats won't have an excuses. They won't be able to tell their constituents that they're unable to raise taxes because of the two-thirds rule.

This will force the Democrats to overtly act in ways contrary to the clearly stated will of the large majority of voters in this state. Every county approved Eyman's last tax limit, and the idea has gotten more support each time it's been passed.

So, Democrats, make my day. Really. Do it. Raise taxes, and see what happens. You know, the Republicans don't have to carry King County to win the state. All they have to do is peel off another 10%, and they're in.

So go for it, Democrats.
9
But the plain language of the constitution is not near so clear as you make it out to be.
10
Washingtonians will NEVER approve a state sales tax, and Eyman continues to win at the ballot box because of this simple truth- no more taxes. I hate the man and his initiatives, but @8 is right- they keep winning more votes with each floating.
Oregon has an income tax. Washington has sales tax. Neither state will ever approve passing of the other, because it all adds up to higher taxes. The legislature has not and seemingly will not understand the will of the people they represent.
Except Seattle citizens who have never met a tax they didn't like, no matter how heavy.

It is about time somebody in Olympia read the damn constitution;Eymanazi and his minions are not allowed to amend our state's constitution via ballot initiative .(Take that shit to the few states - like California and Oregon - that actually allow it,you dolts!) ----- htt://www.ballotpedia.org ---All the election shows is that this state is crawling with racists. ----- http://www.splcenter.org

Morally depraved writing like this degrades our country and culture..in the name of free speech..filthy language...upon death desending into the hell fire...guaranteed.
