I must protest on behalf of the ferret. They actually make lovely pets if you educate yourself in properly caring for them.

Though they do already have a bestiality thing attached to them, which, unlike the gerbils, is actually true: there's a sport in Yorkshire, England (called ferret-legging) that involves putting live ferrets down a man's pants.
