I just want to say that Lucy's voice is probably the most attractive voice I have ever heard. Makes the podcast 100 times better hearing her!

I don't hate Lucy, but I don't like sycophants. Lucy functions as a fluffer for Dan's ego, it's sad and gross. Too bad he can't have an adult woman who has her own opinions and experiences as a co-host.

lucy is great. It's good to have a layperson's perspective on the show as well as Dan's perspective.

She's also really funny. MOAR LUCY PLZ

Lucy hater haters are haters too. Just sayin'. ;) I enjoy reading the comments on the Lucy shows but will not be listening to any podcasts she's on. Sorry. She's just not for me and I agree with everything the "haters" say. I simply don't get much out of the shows she's on other than to be annoyed and disappointed in my "hero" Dan.

I know, I am a Lucy hater. I also agree with previous posters that she dumbs down the podcast. At least previous guests knew what the fuck they were talking about (Or they won a contest). Her voice just gets to me and I don't have any idea why people like that she panders to Dan. You know what would be nice? Someone that banters with Dan, gives actual advice, and someone who calls Dan out on his shit sometimes. Not some assistant who just giggles and smiles. Oh, and that whole joke about "she's my wife because she doesn't fuck me" is sex negative and promotes the idea that woman don't enjoy sex. You get letters from both sexes about lack of sex Dan.

Hi Dan,

Lucy is great, a value adding sidekick that will add new dimension to your MTV project. I'm guessing that her picture will appear on MTV but, alas, I don't have a TV. Please post her picture (& send me a link) so that I can put a face to the voice. Miss Lucy can interpret this request however she wants ;-)

I'm a long-time fan. It goes without saying that your wit is charming, but I've stuck around all these years because you constantly grow and evolve. Thanks!

I'm in the don't-hate-Lucy-but-want-her-to-go camp. I like Lucy. I bet if she were my friend, I'd love her. And if she were my assistant, I'd adore her. But I agree with others who say the show is dumber and the flirting is annoying.

You are diluting your brand, dude. You have hard-earned expertise; Lucy does not. It's a credibility issue.

Kids in the bonobo community know that the primary purpose of sex is for bonding. Sometimes it results in procreation and sometimes it results in pleasure. But mainly, and even in humans this is true, it is for bonding.

There are various possibilities:

* Ms Lucy is established as a permanency, becomes officially co-host, and eventually turns diva and arranges a coup.

* Ms Lucy becomes a recurring character making periodic appearances.

* Ms Lucy and Mr Savage both get drunk at the same time, after which the smarmy "wife" jokes not-so-mysteriously disappear from the banter. If Mr Savage's inner Susan Lucci is awakened, almost unlimited chaos could ensue, but at least the discussion threads would run to hundreds of posts.

Doubtless there are other possibilities, but those were the first three that came to mind.

I like Lucy. She's a fun variation to the podcast. (and regardless, Dan can do whatever he wants with his podcast... guests, eat, drink, advice, sing, rant, say "douche", or whatever.)

I'm late to the party, but I have to say I actually laughed aloud at the office when Lucy mentioned her response to video her mother showed her! Kids say the damnedest things!

I love what Lucy brings to the show! It's always been great but having a (sexy) female voice and vagina-based perspective is great. I say keep Lucy around!

I Love Lucy. And Dan always shines when he has someone to bounce off of. There's a reason that Johnny Carson had Ed McMahon, and all the late night talk show hosts have their foils.

I think I've been a pretty good winged monkey. Lucy's giggle is so annoying that I came to the realization that I'm not really learning very much from these podcasts anymore.

Re: the NYC college student who won't commute for an hour - I suspect the reluctance to travel is on her boyfriend's part. Notice that she has no problem staying in Manhattan with him, even if his sister is there and her boyfriend won't fuck her. I had a very similar problem when I lived in Brooklyn - not just with lovers, but with friends who lived in Manhattan. Many if not most people who live in Manhattan refuse to ever leave the island on the grounds that the world revolves around it/them. They really don't think they should have to ride a train for an hour (or half an hour, or twenty minutes, for that matter) to go to an outer borough, but think nothing of assuming that anyone who lives outside Manhattan must travel to visit/socialize with them in their apartment/neighborhood. This is especially true for men - the whole societal privilege thing, plus the fact that single men outnumber single women in NYC and straight men hence many don't try very hard once it's clear that a woman is willing to have sex with them more than once. This chick needs to give an ultimatum - go to her apartment, or she won't fuck him at all, not even when his sister isn't home. Unfortunately, she might find her ass dumped.

One of your callers had a boyfriend who was terrified of breaking his penis. You told her that he was insanely dysfunctional and that she should just dump him for his irrational phobia.

Guess what, Dan? You CAN break your penis! A fractured penis occurs when one (or both) of the two cylinders bursts, causing a purple "blow-out" protrusion. If the victim just laughs it off like you did, it will likely cause permanent erectile dysfunction. Do you still think it's insane to be afraid of this?

It is certainly possible for fear of any condition to reach a level that is excessive, but I still think this is the worst advice you have ever given.

I feel like it's pretty easy to avoid falling in love with fuckbuddies, but the way you do it is to pick the right fuckbuddy. If you don't want to fall in love with a fuckbuddy, only pick friends with whom you don't really have romantic chemistry to be fuckbuddies. Also, don't spend time with them like you're in a relationship, spend time with them like you would spend time with a friend you're not fucking.

If you picked someone to be your fuckbuddy and you like them too much or you think they probably like you too much, then you picked wrong. I don't think it's really a good idea to be fuckbuddies with someone who you think would be good relationship material for you.

Yay! I love Lucy.

To the blow job caller, please consider options of receiving pleasur, other than vaginal fucking. Tell him to go down on you FIRST, or show him how to pleasure you with his fingers. Consider buying a remote controlled vibrating egg. (These are very expensive, but worth it. Make sure you search for body safe sex toys.) He can vibrate the egg as you suck his cock. Or, as Lucy suggested, try 69. If you can't 69 to orgasm, do it as foreplay!
Another option is to simply let him stroke himself to high arousal, and then suck him off for the last part. That way you have to do less work. It's also less work if you give him the blow job while he's sitting on a chair while you kneel in front. Have a flufffy comfy cushion for your knees. It's much easier than giving a blowjob lying down in bed, which is what I used to do. (Balancing that way is difficult.)

To the woman whose husband cheated on her with sex addiction, I will say that, for my part, I don't think that being polyamorous with a person who makes bad judgement calls would be better than being monogamous with a person who makes bad judgement calls. Of course, I don't know you or your partner. Dan's suggestion to talk to a poly-friendly counselor is a good one. Try calling all the different relationship counselors in your area and ask them if they can accept non-monogamous relationships.

The answer to the "hour commute" lady was pretty awful. Yeah, an hour commute doesn't sound like much if you haven't gotten laid in months, but it's not something you're going to do every day if you can avoid it.

I think a better answer is "the sister excuse is bullshit, fuck there whether she's there or not."

I am NOT a hater but I don't enjoy the Dan/Lucy format. I think it dumb downs the show. I gave it a listen again to be fair but it's not for me. I won't be listening for a while but will check back periodically. I wish you all well.

How can anyone dislike Lucy? She has great comedy, remember in her first podcast when she said "Poop on my couch once, shame on you..."

I enjoy Lucy's advice and think she's really funny.

Lucy is adorable.

Fuck buddies are tough for some of us vagina-havers, though I've had some good experiences. My choice of fuck buddy is a dude who I think is hot and can respect and have fun with, but who has values, interests or a personality type that doesn't mesh so well with mine. I guess this allows me to keep more emotional distance from the situation. Mostly though, it just took practice thinking about sex in a more commodified way. That was hard at first, now it comes easily. I really don't think fuck buddy arrangements are for everyone.

#4 - I thought it was just me! I remember him talking about that as a consensual agreement in the past, but I've also heard him talk about it as cheating more than once.... so I don't know if it started off as cheating and the couple eventually came to an agreement that that person could sleep with other people or what.

Lucy sounded adorable this week, and the repartee between you two was cute.

But, sorry, it seemed the responses tended to go on, and on, a bit more than usual? The downside of having a side-kick, this week, was a tendency for Dan to repeat and rephrase and avoid getting to the point and moving on to the next call.

Sorry Dan, I know you're tired of playing road warrior and you miss your husband, but this episode made me wish you'd do another podcast where questions and answers had a strict time limit. Tough to do on the road, and even tougher with a sidekick, but once you're back in the studio it'd be a nice Xmas treat to your fans to have a self-consciously snappy episode.

Last time that Dan brought up his "He's monogamous, I'm not" anecdote, it was a consensual agreement. This time it was cheating?! I swear I've heard him mention this before.
