Team Chara--something tells me Malkin will have a great game (as great a season as he's been having), about Thomas and Howard between the pipes--I know its all offense but I think they'll survive the shootout a little better than their opposing netminders.

I enjoy hockey. I'm not a fanatic, mind you, but it's got excitement and skill beyond most other sports that keeps my attention. But there is one thing about it that I think technology could improve and that's a computer enhanced visual so it's easier to follow the puck.

Ordinarily I wouldn't care, but if that teabagging douche Tim Thomas is on Team Chara, then I'm all about Team Alfredsson.

They did that a bunch of years ago where they put a glow on the puck. It made it easier in some cases to pick up the puck, but for many, I believe it became an eyesore and they stopped doing it.

Unfortunately, I don't think Hartnell will have a very good game; it's not his style. No hitting, no shit talking, no reason to make the other "team" hate him... That's how he score goals. Not many ugly goals in the All Star game.

Besides, unless there's a "who can fall down the most with no one touching you" contest in the skills completion, I don't see him doing much there either.

And I love the guy!

I thought we weren't allowed to talk about sports leagues that don't exist in Seattle. At least that's what I've been told about the NBA.

I'm having some serious issues with this game. Geno 'Beast' Malkin and Real Deal James Neal are on different teams. As a Penguins fan I just can't. Just can't.

@6, did you say the overwhelming win for nachos? Although it must be quite a plate of nachos to last 6 hours over two day?

I'll be watching at Mario's with a large pie and cheering for the Canucks who are all on Team Alfredsson. There has never in the history been a sorer winner than the Shithole Bruins.

Shutup Megan, the Sedins are awesome. You're just sore we kicked your ass in the playoffs.

I really like Alfredsson's arbitrary drafting strategy: get his teammates and swedes.

@ 8, is that your bizarre rationalization? To help make last summer's Stanley Cup final (and VANCOUVER riot) go down easier? Because that's projection if I've ever seen it.

@9 Yup! I am. I haven't forgiven the Cancuks. Also, they're playing like jerks this season. How many penalty points have they racked up again? Stop being thugs and play hockey.

@10, I can't understand how Chara is bitter with Vancouver. Vancouver are definitely sore losers, not sure why Boston continues to complain.

Alright, I think I know what you're talking about. Vancouver has been playing rough, right? Esp. with Boston? I think it's something that's pretty fresh.

Sorry for my presumption.

@13, bitter on the Beantown side would related to Marchand's suspension.

In a game that means something. Team Alfredsson.

In the actual NHL All Star game. Team Chara.

Team Alfredsson should put a lifesize cardboard cutout of President Obama on the ice so Team Chara's prize goalie Sasheen Littlepecker doesn't set skate on the ice.

@17, if the Canucks and Bruins are in the Finals, and I'll be at the Rog with an Obama mask. Timmeh Thomas is a bumblefuck teabagging loser who can have the key to Mount Vernon for all I f'ing care.

Pretty sure the NHL's official stated reason for no longer using the streak/blur enhanced puck is that it (puck) had a microchip in it, thus meaning they were unable to freeze it prior to use, which meant that it wound up playing differently on the ice. But folks/fans seemed pretty put off by it in general, as I vaguely recall.

Would like the game so much more if they actually played defense. It's the most talent you'll ever see assembled on the ice at a given time (more so than either the SC finals or the olympics, though I suppose the latter comes close) but you don't get a chance to see anyone really giving 100% effort. Excpet Pete Rose, of course.
