Dorothy Parvaz? The heroic journalist...oh, wait. The dumb bitch who went to Syria knowing what would happen if she got caught.

I admire her courage and dedication. She understands that people need the truth. I'm hoping that she can use technology to get what she needs without the serious risk to her life and well being.

"Oh,hai! I'm just waltzing in with my expired passport! I'm on vacation to beautiful Syria!! Yeah, that's the ticket!"

I guess Eli's not the only one who would swallow that load of jizz.

Why do people get all huffy about war tourist journalists, when they're the only ones getting REAL NEWS out of these countries for us? Who cares if they're doing it for the thrill, or are stupid, or whatever? We aren't her mother hen, let's stop clucking over her.

War tourists are awesome. They bring back the BEST STORIES, and if they live, grow up to be Chris Hedges.

D. is really, really good at giving bullshit non-answers, she even used a "/" for fucks sake in her second response to Eli. While I appreciate that she put her life on the line to go to Syria for a few stories, nothing I've seen from her since justifies the hype. Syria is clearly a perfect candidate for a Balkans-style intervention, perhaps even just the establishment of 'safe zones' along the Turkish and Jordanian borders.
