How long does it take them to perform a poll like this and publish the numbers? Both my wife and I received automated calls to our cell phones today asking who we're most likely to vote for in the election. I assume the turnaround isn't that fast, but if it's all automated anyway... I dunno.

Are folks really that afraid that Obama is going to loose that they would sacrifice their precious weekend time to cross over into their adversaries' turf to prop up a weaker opponent?

We haven't seen such democratic nervousness since Jimmy Carter.

Moderates.

The real Victory Party!

Phoebe, I'd say the Republicans are quite a bit more nervous than the Dems are.

Look, I've been reasonably happy with Obama and I expect him to win easily, but if there's some huge economic disaster or something and somehow the Republican nominee ends up in the White House, on your heads be it if it's the one that didn't realize the Handmaid's Tale was supposed to be a work of fiction instead of a policy guide. If you aren't voting for the person you think would be the best president, you shouldn't be voting.

@5 I totally agree, trying to "play" the system rarely works out the way you want it to.

And yeah, do we want to risk having Santorum (or worse) locking up the nomination this summer and have a major economic downturn?

I guess that whole being a stalking horse is really working out for Ron Paul. He's pretty much single-handedly keeping Santorum at bay.

I also suspect the irony is totally lost on the Paultards.
