That is really sad, dispiriting and unfortunate news. I hope we see more women (and men, if you're with us) showing up for marches and meetings about these issues. In my experience, Seattle tends to get a dismal turnout for women-centric events.
"In case you can't read the writing on the screen, "Democrats" Sheldon, Tom, and Hargrove crossed party lines to vote against the legislation, while R's Nelson and Conway voted for it."
That's NOT how that vote went - and Nelson and Conway are DEMOCRATS
Geez, this is so depressing... It's as if the election of a darker-skinned man to the White House has just deranged a significant portion of the population.. We saw the first symptoms of the derangement with the rise of the Tea Party*, and somehow this goddamn 'War On Women' got going at about the same time... And now we're having to justify our fucking health care, for crap's sake...
*Actually, I guess you could make the case that the derangement began with the putting forth of the creature Sarah Palin as a Vice-Presidential candidate...
Could we get a link to the voting, so we can see what the hell is going on? That picture is worthless. And as @3 points out, Nelson and Conway are indeed Democrats.
@3,5--you're totally right. I was rushing to put this post up while listening to the floor mess and didn't double-check myself. Thanks for the fix; I've updated the post.
