Compared to the R's secret budget with its $74mil cut to education beyond the D budget and its slashing of TANF, family care, health and more, the D budget with its sensible accounting and budgeting should have been a no brainer. Deficit neutral, preserves valuable services and on top of all that it prevents the need for future emergency assistance or recovery after putting families in a difficult and potentially economically devastating position such as we see in the R budget.
Good video, content-wise. Mike does sound tired, though.
#4 hit it, with a flip of the wrist and a wink, then a shake of the hips and pouty fat lips making a kiss. If the Republicans really cared about the state and its citizens, they would have taken a different approach.
So many cuts yet the state budgets grows very year despite deflatioary pressures in housing and marginal pop growth. Got to feed those fat happy SEIU pensions.

If even Democrats in Olympia consider him
political poison what are the chances anyone else cares what he thinks? Well, besides his loyal base of persecuted cyclists, occutards, and drunken woodcarvers I mean.
The McGinn hate is so bizarre and irrational. I think it's just car drivers who think McGinn's comin fer their cars, just like gun owners think Obama's comin fer their guns.
@14, the Republican Senate budget doesn't do a damn thing for old citizens. Since rural citizens are much more likely to be poor, it doesn't do anything for them either.
Who cares what anyone outside of Seattle thinks of our mayor? Fuck 'em. They're just mad that McGinn's fought to keep downtown Seattle from being left half-demolished when the money runs out on our Big Dig.
Was anyone under the impression that a public video message like this was made with a sincere belief that the Republicants would heed his advice? Like sending an open letter is intended to directly persuade the stated recipient?
You might as well complain that everything The Stranger writes is irrelevant because they dont take kindly to The Stranger in Spokane. This wasnt a message to the Senate Republicans, it was a message to Seattleites.
I suppose the mayor will post a video message showing support for Sandra Fluke next. See how reasonable he is? He even wants to legalize weed! He clearly speaks for the people! Watch his approval poll rise a tad, just by posting a series of 'No Shit Sherlock' videos.
Speaking of big dig, how much will Chris Hanson's hedge fund make flipping that property to the city for the "cost free" stadium? A lot, after he gets the permitting done.
