To be perverse, you can buy them from used bookstores through the Amazon-owned site Abebooks for a few bucks.

For those who only know Bond via the movies, the original novels are a terrific - not to mention very different -- insight to the character. Plus, they're incredibly quick reads, any of which can easily be consumed in an afternoon.

Amen! The movies suck ass, but the books are lean and mean without an ounce of cute. Fleming was a neanderthal when it came to women, though.

How can one fail to be impressed with the breadth and depth of Paulie's knowledge and sophistication (OK, just being sarcastic now......)?
