I like how they're playing on the stereotype of cool vs smart (capable, in this case). “See how cool he is, he can’t be a very good president.”

They point out "Trillions of dollars of student loan debt," yet the GOP is trying to double interest rates come July?

Well, the commercial is pretty fucking dumb, but that is clearly not the same sound sample. Good journalism, guys!

@5 Good reading comprehension, guy(s)!

"a deep-voiced "Oh yeah," similar to the one in Yello's song, is repeated three times"

@3, the GOPpers are desperate to keep the student-loan interest rates low for another year because they know Obama's getting political mileage out of the issue... but true-to-form, they're trying to fund it by eviscerating another part of the Affordable Care Act:

House votes to extend low rates on federal student loans

By Susan Davis, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON – The U.S. House approved, on a mostly party-line (215-195) vote, a $5.9 billion bill to maintain low interest rates for Stafford student loans, paying for it by slashing funds for a provision of President Obama's health care law.

Thirty Republican lawmakers voted against the bill, while 14 Democrats voted for it...

...Republicans would pay for the cost of the loan extension by cutting funds from the Prevention and Public Health Fund (PPHF), a $15 billion fund created under the health care law to help states and localities pay for everything from anti-obesity campaigns to cancer screenings...

Also,

Nobody gives a crap about the young generation. The young generation is and will remain impotent. Just like my generation. But at least my generation votes. The young generation wouldn't know a vote if they were asked to pick one. Ranting on the Interwebs (yeah, yeah) and screaming and jumping and waving signs is much more important than, you know, bothering to pay the fuck attention to how things work and how you could, if you applied the right effort, have a shot in hell to actually change something.

Then again, the old fuckers that hold the keys to everything will prevent every attempt at change from fully succeeding. Maybe when my generation becomes the old fuckers, we'll be able to let some of that happen, if we don't all flip to asshole self-interested materialist NIMBYs and reactionaries by then. Of course, probably then the young generation's idea of "rebellion" will be tall collars, long sleeves, ankle-length skirts, and classical music.

I know many of the local Occupiers and while some of them do have a sincere desire to make things better, they have no clue how things work in this country, state, city, you name it. Even the older ones that have no excuse. Of course, the people that do know that have already gotten involved in the various regional political groups. If Occupiers would say, hey, how does this stuff work, that would be great; but much more often, they assume that stuff works they way they imagine it works, and fail tragically in their wasted efforts. (Eventually they will probably get discouraged and bitter as a result. Or hooked on something that makes their thought process really woo-woo, if they haven't already.) There may be hope for some, but they first have to realize that they know not.

Hmm. Do I sound bitter and discouraged yet?

This has nothing to do with the track by Yello and anyone with working ears knows it. This is bullshit. Please Paul, there's other stuff to post about than made up bullshit.

Their problem isn't Obama's supposed celebrity. Their problem is Romney is about as attractive a candidate as a dirty diaper.

If Yello is gonna sue anyone it should be Jimmy Fallon - his "Slow-Jam the News" bit has featured a deep-throated "Oh Yeah" since it debuted. Rove's PAC ad is just copying Fallon copying Yello.

Dieter Meier of Yello has tons of money. If he wants to take Rove into a lawsuit, he could effectively do it. Just sayin'
