Wait. How do we know Dick wrote that letter? The only "signature" is typed.

It is a lovely letter, though.

@1, it's posted on his official website, run by his surviving family. That's a pretty good indicator.

It should be remembered that this was several months before the film was finished & released.

Philip K. Dick may have liked the Entertainment tonight preview of the upcoming movie version, but he died a couple months later and before actually seeing the film itself.

Away at a contentious deposition all day today but MUST weigh in on this, albeit late. I will wax poetic since surely no one will read this.

I devoured science fiction as a kid and teen but my enthusiasim started to wane throughout my 20s. Then Blade Runner snatched me up just before I hit the big 3-0 and reinvigorated me - you cannot overemphasize the impact that movie had at the time.

Blade Runner remains near the top of any list I make of important films (I have the boxed set of all available versions). The gritty backgrounds were fantastic and truly a vision of a plausible future. I'm pleased that Philip Dick seems to have shared my opinions.

Electric sheep indeed.
