And oh, that Ohio rally? I see you forgot to mention that only 14,000 people showed up for it. 35,000 were at the one in the same spot four years ago.

In Romney Embarrassment news, Ron Paul has won enough state delegations to have his name put on the ballot at the RNC convention in Tampa in August.

He will get air time and his delegates might embarrass Romney. And if Romney does not win on the first round of voting, all kinds of things can happen.

It's already an embarrassment for Romney, in that he doesn't have the organizational strength to get his supporters to come out at district and state conventions and vote for him. If he cannot defeat Ron Paul in these swing states, how can he beat an incumbent president with hundreds of offices nationwide?…

When did 35,000 people show up?

Was it at the beginning of May or was it in September?

14,000 people showing up at the beginning of May for an incumbent in a time of a lackluster economy is actually pretty good.

For comparison, Romney's rallies are usually in the 100s and the crowds are much less enthusiastic.…

From news reports regarding his speech at Otterbein last week (where he told students that they should borrow money from their parents for college):

"Regardless of his specific message, however, Romney's delivery at times can seem stiff, even to supporters. He speaks with the measured tone of a former business executive, methodically scanning the audience from side to side. The Otterbein crowd greeted him with a standing ovation but wasn't inspired to interrupt him again with applause until 27 minutes into the speech.

And he struggled to hold the younger crowd's attention at times."…

@3: Really? You're claiming that 35,000 people can fit into the Shottenstein Center even though it has a capacity of under 19,000? And this happened four years ago?

Maybe you're thinking of the 35,000 that showed up two years ago when Obama spoke outside at the Oval of the Ohio State campus. That wasn't four years ago and that wasn't the "same spot" as yesterday.

Nice try though.

Seating capacity doesn't include the floor. (And I believe the seating capacity is 24K.)

But I've got to agree that Romney certainly isn't doing any better.

Typical Republican response for people struggling to find work; from Maine Governor LePage:

“To all you able-bodied people out there: Get off the couch and get yourself a job.”

You see folks, it's just that easy.

Or, you could just have a relative get elected as governor. Works for LePage's family:

"LePage appointed his 22-year-old daughter Lauren as assistant to his chief of staff—an entry-level position with an annual salary of approximately $41,000—and employee benefits estimated to be worth an additional $15,000. While residing in the governor's mansion, she also receives a housing benefit with an estimated value of $10,000 per year. (Maine's rules against nepotism did not apply to this and other political positions.)

Critics noted that entry-level salaries for teachers and police officers in Maine are only $30,000 and $36,000, respectively, after specialized training, and that Lauren LePage has a limited work history.

LePage hired his brother-in-law, Jody Ledoux, as director of administrative services for the State Planning Office with an annual salary of $68,577. Ledoux, who is married to a sister of LePage's wife Ann, began his work on February 13, 2012."

What a dick!…

@9: So you're admitting your mention of 35,000 at the "same spot" was wrong?

Show me a source that states it can hold 24,000. For concerts it has a listed capacity of 20,000. Sure, the floor can be used for events like speeches, but you realize that the stage takes up more than one seat?

I don't know the exact setup inside there yesterday (in terms of security, etc.), but here are the capacities for various setups, including the center stage one:…

Where is your 24,000 number from?

First of all, it's called the Democratic Party.

Second of all, what does what I wrote about the failures of the Romney campaign have to do with the Democratic Party or "Centrist Ideology" or whatever the hell you are talking about?

A good piece on Romney's failure this weekend in the swing state of Nevada:…

"Even if they are destined to strike political pyrite in August, the Paul folks exposed here what is happening everywhere within the GOP — a RNC trying desperately to excite a base for an unexciting presumptive nominee while not alienating the hordes of Paulites who want ... something.

The RNC, represented at the Nugget and watching the Paul folks dominate similar conventions across the country, would prefer an uneventful (read: choreographed) national convention where Paul delegates don’t boo Mitt Romney as he accepts the nomination or start a resolution revolution from the floor. Similarly, they were hoping for a relatively sedate Nevada Republican Party event this weekend, with the Paul folks leaving happy and the Romney contingent fairly represented on the national delegate slate (3 of 25!).

Instead what transpired Saturday was a microcosm of the war for the soul of the Republican Party, with orange-capped Romney captains patrolling the convention floor, motivated by a desire to keep the sheep in line, while more colorfully dressed Paul delegates destabilized the convention, animated by either a love of liberty or a love of black helicopters (hard to tell percentages.)."

And speaking of Obamney, or is that Romobama?

At what point do you whackadoodle whackjobs finally acknowledge Obama's 100% neocon administration? Just like Clinton, just like the four preceding administrations?
