How soon until Hitler is mentioned?

Ok... there will be time to be cynical and defensive... but today is a great day. I'm very happy Obama made the change.

This was his plan.

Let the haters explode in all their technicolor shame, and let all the good people in the undecided middle see them for that they are: bigoted haters.

File under the 'Give 'Em Enough Rope' category...

We need a word like "poe" (Poe's Law, q.v.) for times when a Fox story is indistinguishable from an Onion story. Or would that just be an "onioning"?

Seriously, though, this might be my favorite headline of all time.

Also - didja catch the dog-whistle in the second sentence?

"the president described his thought process as an “evolution” that led him to this place"

War on marriage! Fuck yeah! Where can I join up?

How many flip flops will Mittens have on this in the coming weeks?

Let's make a video montage of them.

war? yeah I know it's propaganda... but since they put flip flops in the headline, obviously Fox meant:

good to see Obama growing real balls

And all of a sudden, the "Declares War on Marriage" part is missing. Oh FauxNews, you're such a kidder.

@4, Onioning is fucking brilliant.

And I expect Romney to have a strongly worded non-position as soon as he determines what he thinks is most likely to get him elected depending on which particular slice of the electorate he's courting today, then to reverse himself, then to take full credit when marriage equality finally reaches its tipping point.

There's a tiny annoying pessimist inside me warning that this will make it harder for state-level Republicans to vote for state same-sex marriage bills. Fortunately he's mostly being drowned out by a much louder voice in a fabulous tux and a white rose on his lapel. Fuck. Yes.

Well now I just want to talk about flip flops

In the video he mentions his faith in God. FOX forgot to dub in "Allah" before posting this old video. Doh.

... more like a doubling of marriage?
Posted by internet_jen on May 9, 2012 at 1:19 PM · Report this
This is not about "growing real balls." This is a cold political calculation: with the repugs doubling down on the crazy and hatred, Obama needs to connect to the base while playing at fairness, rationality, etc. There is no easier way to do this than supporting gay marriage. The haters were never going to vote for him so why not? (Might just make some of you forget what a truly shitty president he has been. Renditions, warrantless wiretapping and persecution of muslims anyone?)

They just changed it to "OBAMA FLIP FLOPS ON GAY MARRIAGE". Glad you got a screenshot of the original.

It's heartwarming to see that a majority of FOX readers find their slant in the coverage of this story to be "offensive". Maybe FAUX-newsies aren't such terrible people after all.

SNL had a pretty funny opening bit recently about Faux News -…

I especially liked the long, long scroll of all the corrections they had to make... Baseball is a land-based sport. snerk

In a live broadcast, Shep Smith of Fox News just asked how long Republicans would remain "on the wrong side of history."

Even FOX is befuddled by this one.

Know what? I'm gay and am SO glad we can now (perhaps) put more focus on other issues. Religions are just great, but they can be changed in mere seconds. One is not born Christian or Jewish, etc. It's an overlay. Sexuality isn't. Animals prove this time and time again. Love is love. President Obama knows this in his heart. I am so lucky to be living in this time!!! OBAMA/BIDEN2012

Funny how "allowing all people the same right of marriage" translates to "war on marriage".
