They sounded good -- though my main realization was that seeing them at festivals where I'm always running around means tht it's been a realllllly long time since I've been able to stay long enough for "New Slang" to change my life all over again.

Love me some Kelly O, but I think this qualifies as the "where have you been?" post of the year on Line Out. Mercer booted those three guys a couple years ago and it was covered everywhere - RS, Pitchfork, etc. In fact, your sister paper to the south had the best coverage anywhere: an extremely honest and interesting interview with Sandoval about how it all went down. Google "Jesse Sandoval I was fired by James Mercer" or whatever...
