@4 Thanks for your input, but literally everyone else in the world loves this column and we're not canceling it.

Dave Segal is definitely behind the Chrome recommendation, or I'll eat my hat.

really not trying to troll here, my frizzelle, but the funnyness was "wow look at this oddball we stumbled across. Now its kinda just frustrating that the stranger is giving ink space to yet another writer tasked with writing a music article, that knows not alot about music. and yes this was my favorite thing ever when it first came out...but now I hate it! poor girl!

I'm glad you know alot of people that like it. just my two cents.

Would love to know her take on either Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel or Atari Teenage Riot.

And then give her some Dead Can Dance or This Mortal Coil.

Glad the correct answer is winning, though I hope they all make it in the end. I still love this series, and I'm glad there are enough weird but legendary albums out there to keep it going forever.

The Slits would probably result in a more entertaining read, but if the goal is to make Anna a more musically better rounded person, then Zen Arcade.

I'd like to see Anna review the entire Cremaster cycle. It's movies, not albums, but still. She can start with this little number involving the Slayer drummer and some bees: Johnny Cash.

It's hard to beat the classic Led Zeppelin "Zoso". Since that really isn't the name, I'll bet she hasn't heard of it.

Mike picked Chrome, Dave picked Hüsker Dü, and Emily picked the Slits.

I love this column, but [like everything written for the Stranger's music section] it would be nice if it was about music made by people younger than baby boomers. I imagine every Line Out writer looks like Tom Brokaw.

You know, there's very important music from the past 5, 10, 15 years... and even being made right now!

Whenever people are like "I like Zen Arcade except Song X and Song Y," I never understand it. I ALWAYS listen to that album front-to-back, and always enjoy every second of it.

Also "Pink Turns to Blue" is the best song.

I think it would be fun to give this poll a theme—maybe one week we have everyone vote on three NW artists (considered to be important by music nerds). Wipers, Melvins, Bikini Kill... though Olympia would probably need a poll of it's very own.

Or genres! Grunge edition? Hip Hop edition? Ska edition? Metal edition?

Or years! 1987 edition? What happened that year? Something must have happened that year.

@19: Everyone knows I look more like Matt Lauer.

1987 was the release of motherfucking Trio! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyPaspA66…

I definitely think we should do some selections by genre. Perhaps we start with this: http://www.allmusic.com/style/sophisti-p…

Anna should review Chrome, just so we can read what happens to her the second TV as Eyes comes on... Husker Du is so meat and potatoes. Slits is great, but I think she'll "get" it out of 10.

The Slits - Segal
Chrome - Nipper
Hüsker Dü - Nokes (I believe someone referred to me as "chick" up there)

Eventually, she will hear them all! I would love to be listening to the Slits for the first time! Can't wait to hear how her Zen Arcade journey goes.
