I thought it was pretty cool when Yao came out against shark's fin soup. I wish the ad campaign that used his image had continued.

Good on Yao Ming. I, too have viewed African elephants in their habitat. They are most gentle and protective creatures. When I saw them at a National Park in Northern Cameroon on safari, one cow of the herd nearly charged us. One of our entourage got a little too close photographing her calf. I remember her ears wildly flapping just before the attempted charge.
