I've been listening to hip hop for 25+ years and don't remember a time I've been so proud of somebody standing up for what they believe in this community. People think it's no big deal because we live in Seattle. Think what happens once Ben and Ryan step outside of here and play this song in other cities across the world.

There's been and still is so much hate in hip hop and it's a beautiful thing to watch people take a stand for progress and aren't afraid to do and say what's right.

Kudos my friends.

When I saw on the news last night that this song hit #1 on iTunes, it gave me chills and brought a tear to my eye.

We live in a world where the news is a 24/7 cycle of violence, recession, war and the depressing politics of the GOP. As a news junkie, I have to force myself to turn it off from time to time to rebuild my immune system. It makes you start losing hope in humanity. Then Macklemore's story comes on.

The fact that a white rapper, from Seattle hit #1 with a song in support of gay marriage brings back the pride and hope I felt Nov 2008.

Congratulations Ben. This is inspiring!
