Right now I'm glad that I work from home and have no kids. Actually, I'm pretty happy about that every day, but it's particularly great at this moment in time...
I haven't felt a need to actually do anything differently because of this whole thing. Maybe wash my hands a bit longer than normal. And fill our water bottles, since I realized we don't have any emergency water in the house. But, both of those things are good things to do anyways...

Kent Brockman: "Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?"
QFC on 15th had a decent amount of hand sanitizer last night. Today, I found two N95 masks under my sink. Fuck yeah, they're sitting on my coffee table for the impending flupocalypse!
I couldn't find any sanitizer either, but I mixed 1 part dishwashing soap with 2 parts rubbing alcohol and it seems like it's close to the same stuff. Is there any reason that wouldn't be as good?
QFC had $0.50 Hormell Chili, and my recent-college-student instincts prompted me to fill the cart with them. That was last weekend, before we knew we were all going to die, so, hurray intuition.
would be curious to have DOCTOR Golob weigh in on hand sanitizers. I feel like antibacterial soaps will be the eventual downfall of humanity. Give me some good ol fashioned soap and water!
I wouldn't say that I'm panicked, but I sure would feel more comfortable having a bit of sanitizer on me when my 4 year old daughter and I get off of the bus. Soap and water just isnt' that convenient to use midtransit. May those of you who thinks this is not prudent get sneezed on by the boar from the brilliant movie Razorback.
Alcohol and dish soap - I think the commercial sanitizers are likely a mix of 70% rubbing alcohol and glycerin. Just guessing.
I don't see why straight alcohol wouldn't be effective in spite of the evaporation. Just carry a small plastic bottle in the car or purse.
Google medical supplies/sanitizers and you'll find quite a trove of sanitizer dispenser systems for work and home. One is perfect for kids. It's a little plastic bottle on a neck cord. And these are typically NOT alcohol based antibacterials.
