When you fly over that on approach to Sea Tac, it's going to look like an infected boil.

You'll need that much olio as citizens are asked to bend over and take it.

Goldy, you spelled "Butter Dome" wrong--Darigold spells it the european way: "Buttre." It's a Buttre Dome.

In other news, it was revealed that the arena will be entirely financed by Paula Deen.

Cute - I like it. But I'm still pissed that the Sonics left so I say call it the Thunder Dome and make it shaped like a huge toilet in honor of the Oklahoma Thunder until a team gets in place, then morph it into a cool post-apocalyptic fighting cage when the Sonics come back.

At first glance, I thought it was concept art for a Futurama episode.

I still prefer the Manteca Dome.

Nice drawing, I love the baskeball court-shaped gardening and the basketball-hoop light-posts to go with the giant basketball dome. The real deal will never be that silly though.

Reverse Polarity 14
Please, god, don't let them paint it piss-yellow. It would only get worse after fading in the sun for a few years. This is a terrible, terrible idea.

hardhat or an oversized McDonald's.

Little boys must have their toys.

Matt from Denver 16
Well, since Pittsburgh doesn't have a place nicknamed the "igloo" anymore, Seattle can give this to this arena.

Seems kind of wasteful, or is that the point?

Not mentioned in the fine print ... it's twice as tall as either Safeco or Century Link Field.

Is that thing in the front a parking lot? Where is the parking lot? And what are all those odd round green things?

Perhaps it should be made of cheese.

It will need to be at least five times bigger than that! Who are you building the stadium for -- ants???

We'll call it "The Butter Ball"...

Matt from Denver @16, you are so observant, my man.

You've got me salivating now about the arena that replaced the Igloo, Consol Energy Center. Gorgeous, shimmering, modern yet timeless, and fits nicely in the urban landscape.

If the great city of Pittsburgh can build a civic jewel like that, then Chris Hansen and the great city of Seattle can build something just as inspiring.

It would be awesome if they just adapted the Legion of Doom's HQ for the design.

I hope they'd let us bring muffins and bread to the games. And obviously a butter knife. Even though it may seem like it's treading on some sort of safety violation.
