@1

Radical rise in wages for Whites and Asians over the past decade.

For Asians, they achieved the same rise in the last 4 years as in the 8 years previous!

For Whites and Hispanics, the groups that lost income in the last 4 years.

"But on the bright side Asian house holds did really well."

Asians don't count in the victimology world of guilt-driven, white liberals…..they work too hard and take responsibility for their lives.

I'm confused, do we need to confiscate the earnings of hard working Asians in King county an give it to blacks and illegals?

Go into any inner city neighborhood, and folks will tell you that government alone can't teach kids to learn. They know that parents have to parent, that children can't achieve unless we raise their expectations and turn off the television sets and eradicate the slander that says a black youth with a book is acting white. No, people don't expect government to solve all their problems.

I bet people in Africa would welcome an obesity epidemic.

I wish this were inflation adjusted, so people wouldn't say "at least there was slight improvement for black households".

Still more than I make, and I'm mostly 'white' but then that graph didn't include Native American or mixed 'race'

Good to see King County wasting precious tax dollars on unemployable liberal white sociologists to tell us what we already know: culture matters.

Funny how nowhere in the data do they mention out of wedlock birth rates in king county:

Asians: 16%
Whites: 28%
Hispanics: 52%
Blacks: 72%

I'm sure it's just 'correlation' that those numbers match incomes.

"Yet if poverty means lacking nutritious food, adequate warm housing, and clothing for a family, relatively few of the more than 30 million people identified as being “in poverty” by the Census Bureau could be characterized as poor.[2] While material hardship definitely exists in the United States, it is restricted in scope and severity. The average poor person, as defined by the government, has a living standard far higher than the public imagines."

"As scholar James Q. Wilson has stated, “The poorest Americans today live a better life than all but the richest persons a hundred years ago.”[3] In 2005, the typical household defined as poor by the government had a car and air conditioning. For entertainment, the household had two color televisions, cable or satellite TV, a DVD player, and a VCR. If there were children, especially boys, in the home, the family had a game system, such as an Xbox or a PlayStation.[4] In the kitchen, the household had a refrigerator, an oven and stove, and a microwave. Other household conveniences included a clothes washer, clothes dryer, ceiling fans, a cordless phone, and a coffee maker."

"The home of the typical poor family was not overcrowded and was in good repair. In fact, the typical poor American had more living space than the average European. The typical poor American family was also able to obtain medical care when needed. By its own report, the typical family was not hungry and had sufficient funds during the past year to meet all essential needs."

"Poor families certainly struggle to make ends meet, but in most cases, they are struggling to pay for air conditioning and the cable TV bill as well as to put food on the table. Their living standards are far different from the images of dire deprivation promoted by activists and the mainstream media."

Clearly, if blacks started 'acting Asian' and stopped using 'acting white' as an epithet, they'd be better off.

Won't work without committed parents. Nope. Charter schools for those black families that have their shit together. Regular public schools for the rest.
