This mashup, however well intended, is just irritating on the eyes (even with a half-naked Burt Lancaster). It doesn't seem particularly creative. Two thumbs down.
Unlike #1 - i like. My day was filled with people talking, gabbing, gossiping, blabbing. Nice to come home to a weird silent film. Does she have longer films?

The Swimmer was one of my late mother's favorite films. It is very odd. The narrative is jumpy, somewhat amateurish. But- it's also becoming one of my favorite films too, and it shows a nice snapshot of a mid-sixties east coast summer. Maybe it's the scenes of lazy summer afternoons and the melancholy ending.
I like this mashup. It has a hypnotic appeal, a lot like the original video bumps 'Adult Swim' used to run. They also captured that melancholy end-of-summer zeitgeist by using videos of empty swimming pools.

"The Swimmer" is an incredibly good and often overlooked film. Lancaster was brillant. Much the same as Eastwood's "Bird"...little noticed, however it too an exceptional work.
