I nearly always disagree with George Will, but I at least have the sense that he's an intelligent man. But when he and Glen Beck both give predict a Romney win with 321 electoral votes, well, suddenly George Will doesn't seem quite so intelligent any more.
The pundits predict that talentless idiots w/ connections will continue to plague the cable airwaves for a few more years, offering up myopic, insulated opinions based on nothing more than two conversations over cocktails last night and what was handed them straight from the RNC.
I've got to put in a good word for cable news. I was just at a McD's that had on CNN, and there on their panel was Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer wearing a magnificent blue bolo tie. And man, it looked good on him.
Nate Silver may be a pretty decent prognosticator, but he's got nothing sartorially on Brian Schweitzer.
New York Magazine is wrong about George Will's popular vote prediction, he predicted that ROMNEY would win by 1.3% (not Obama as they have stated). That said, he's a partisan lunatic, so who really cares?
And did Jim Cramer really say Obama would grab 440 electoral votes? That's crazy talk too!
@7, 440? I can't even get Obama to 440 with just the Confederacy going for Romney. Obama would have to win AK and OK and WY and friggin' UT to get to 440. Obama couldn't get to 440 even if he won TX! Which ain't gonna happen.
What's more interesting than who picked what is, will there be any repurcussions for those who get it wrong? Or REALLY wrong? If Obama wins, will George Will lose his job? Of course not.
I will be counting solely on slog to fill the news shaped void in my soul. Plus multiple varieties of reposado. Paul, you have really been cranking it out these past several months. You are my favorite journalist right now.
