So how about an informal holiday for this? Like from this day forward every November 7th will be known as Green Day....except something not lamely sharing a name with a 25 year old band?

@2 I hadn't heard that. That's a big deal. There are a lot of petty criminals in Californian prisons.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT, YOU ARE KIDDING ME!?! GRAND FUCKING RAPIDS VOTED TO FUCKING DECRIMINALIZE MOTHERFUCKING POT!?!

As a born-and-raised Grand Rapidian who found the Pacific NW much more to her liking, I am completely blown away. As you may have already gathered from my annoying all caps reaction.

Main question is: to save state budgets which are already tightly stretched, will Govs of the states which legalized it perform a Blanket Pardon of all citizens held on such charges? It would reduce their prison budgets dramatically, and free up a lot of cops to go after murderers and rapists and such.

Speaking of the Washington State Liquor Control Board, are we going to be on the hook for all the extra pizza and munchies they'll need for their future office Christmas parties?

@4: you link ain't work, but i found several fact sheets online. nothing definite, but i think no one is going to legally sell or buy weed in this state for over a year, particularly if we have to wait on the WSLCB.

I worked for the Washington State Liquor Control Board for 10 years. It's ran by a bunch of old, conservative, christian identified, non-drinking and non-pot smoking white men and women. The pot that they will buy or license will be the equivalent of Potters Vodka. The nastiest shit there is. No Seattle Skunkberry, Seattle Blue, Purple Kush or Big Budah. I for one will miss my awesome medical marijuana dispensary!!
