Omg... hot-mustached-imperialist-soldier-guy I'll never refer to the US army as the modern version of the Roman legion again... good lord (there are so many "invade me" and "I have oil" jokes). :O

What I think is nice about this video is that it shows young people in a stressful situation being young and carefree. I don't know if they are gay or straight (I've known some straight boys in my day who loved "camping out" on occasion), the important thing is that they are being creative - and while the military runs on discipline, it also needs "outside the box" thinking, especially when things hit the fan.

I like the bit where they bust a move after launching a freaking actual mortar. Reminded me of this.

The message I get from this is not so much that everybody in the Army is gay. It's that they're no longer terrified of being perceived as gay.

I watched the mash-up with the cheerleader version (had never seen that one either) and this is a fabulous re-make that obviously took a long time (while staring at beautiful women over and over to get it right). I'm convinced that not even a majority of these guys are gay, but that really isn't the point and totally agree with @22 and @24. I'm smilin'.

Don't know about the US army but a british guy I used to know came out to his dad decades ago and his dads reply was "that's o.k. son, so was I when I was in the navy but then I met your mum" :-)
On a less cheery note, the guy did get killed in a hate crime in London a few years ago but still a sweet story about how even when shit was illegal acording to the brass it might not always been perceived that way on the field/sea.
But then again the British navy was always said to been build on "rum, sodomy and the lash", never heard that about the US army.

I bet a lot of these guys aren't even gay. Another example about how homophobia is bad for society: More legal rights for gays means more freedom of expression.

This video might make our enemies less afraid of American troops, but I'll take this over a video of our guys desecrating corpses any time.
