I actually haven't seen any of those movies (yet!), but there is a metric ton of talent among all of those casts, so they should be very, very proud to have come out on top.

Before May of this year, Jennifer Lawrence wasn't a movie star, so I think it's unfair to characterize her, or many of the cast of Silver Linings Playbook, as "movie stars parading acting chops." But good on Your Sister's Sister.

Pleased as punch that Your Sister's Sister won, but what's wrong with "movie stars parading acting chops"?

Good one for what's actually my favorite movie of 2012.

Hello! I love movie stars parading acting chops. But sometimes movie stars parading acting chops can sometimes be so wonderful it can blind people to the smaller charms of something like YSS, and I am so happy that is not the case.

And confidential to Misty: Hopefully my response above makes clear that the designation "movie star" was not meant derisively.

I share in the congrats for Your Sister's Sister, but I'd have to give the edge to Moonrise Kingdom and the sweet/strange world that cast created (and don't tell me Wes Anderson deserves all the credit).

Woo!

"Ensemble' implies togetherness, which YSS definitely had. Some of the peeps listed under Moonrise Kingdom didn't even interact with each other (didn't Bob Balaban simple talk to the audience?). There's a difference between best cast and best ensemble.

Impressive win. The first three were a little over-rated. After reading the Travers review, I'm dying to see SLP.

Also before May of this year Jennifer Lawrence had already had an Oscar nomination.

This sister mysteriously has a British accent. This one doesn't. Strange.

@14: they explain the different accents: same father but different mothers, one of whom is English.
