The final song was actually "Come On! Feel the Illinoise!" not "Chicago."

This sounds like my concert hell. Mad respect to Sufjan for being strange, but Christmas and Sufjan at once is too goddamn much. BTW, love your writing Josh.

@3/5 -- I see where you're coming from. It was definitely A Lot. But somehow, it didn't feel like Too Much? Maybe because everyone acknowledged that it (like x-mas) was kind of ridiculous and just went with it.

Are there any other Sufjan Stevens songs as good as Chicago or Casimir Pulaski Day? Love those two, but everything else I've heard from him failed to resonate with me.

@7 I also love the Predatory Wasp from Illinois, "Romulus" from Michigan works in the same mode. And, of course, "Impossible Soul" from Age of Adz is some kind of mad genius.
