Santa gives away presents based on merit and not ability to pay, promotes a secularized interpretation of a traditionally Christian holiday, and favors red apparel and furry hats. He's clearly a socialist.

@1, Santa isn't secular, his image comes from pre-Christian, European pagan traditions - quite spiritual. The Roman Christians stole him from the Winter Solstice, aka "Yule," in order to Christianize an already existing holiday so that the new pagan subjects would have less reason to rebel. Also, he wore green instead of red sometimes as well.

@2 - Not to go down a rabbit hole on this, but American Santa image and lore is—beyond Norman Rockwell and Coca Cola—Sinterklass, or the very Roman Catholic Saint Nicholas.

#4, the phrase "X's to lose" means that a victory is nearly assured, barring some ghastly misstep by the candidate. Theirs to lose should they so choose, not their opponent's to win.

Saint Ronnie was nearly 78 when they finally wheeled his alzheimer's riddled ass out of the White House. And I doubt Hillary would be anywhere near that brain-addled when she turns 78. I'd vote for her.

If this were Holland, where Santa has a team of black slaves, he would defiantly be a Republican. Most are still angry their side lost the Civil War.
But in reality Santa would have to be a socialist as the workers own the means of production. Or a communist as he gives to each according to their needs.
