The first time I experienced Stendhal syndrome was also the first time I saw Jenny Holzer's work. I was 16 years old at the time, living in Italy and visiting the Guggenheim Museum in Venice.
A series of her truisms were carved into a simple park bench. I cried with sadness & joy for almost 30 minutes. Rarely have I ever been so moved by another human's words/work.
