I may have the reading comprehension of a stoned hamster, but isn't there something in Sarbanes–Oxley Act or the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act that addresses this sort of thing? Might be too small potatoes for a legislator to pick up, but it's the sort of thing that might build a career for someone in the enforcement wing.
