No wonder he's been trying to saddle us with that new arena scam.

My only request is that the new basketball team follow the same blue and green color scheme as the Seahawks and Sounders. Green and yellow is ugly.

My only request is that Hanson pays all the expenses out of his pocket and doesn't tap into a single penny of Seattle's and King County's bonding capacity.

Other than that: BRING ON THE LOW PAYING STADIUM
VENDOR JOBS!!!!

Cool, I actually really like watching NBA games at key arena, the grimyness of the place is the best part. It feels like your watching a game in the 80's.

Though when it comes to basketball the fucks I don't give could fill any new arena Hansen might care to build, I am happy for all the local fans.

dark green and yellow, all the way!! Classic Sonics colors, please!

That neon-green trend of our other sports teams has GOT to go. So ugly.

That inflated selling price may have to do with the ease with which Hansen can move the team. "Priced to move!" has a different meaning here.

oooo...Since Seattle is the adopted American home I've never had, I might have a reason to watch/cheer for a NBA team!

And no, I have NOT heard of a team called the "Toronto" "Raptors"...sounds made up to me...

(j/k! I'll probably never want to watch basketball.)

Good for Hansen. The sooner he constructs the arena, the sooner we'll get an NHL franchise-relocated (the Coyotes deal fails) or an expansion one:).

I see what you did there.

I suppose the team will be called The Sonics again, but I would prefer they remain The Kings. Let's not pretend that The Sonics, their owners and the NBA didn't bail on us.

@15: Kings would work well with King County, too.

@Paul. The Seattle Martin Luther King Jrs?

The Kansas City Kings will have a fine new home in Seattle.

@18: I think that would more correctly be the Seattle Martin Luther Kings, Jr.

@20: You're missing out on the additional product tie-in possibilities: Seattle Martin Luther Burger Kings, Jr.

In other unsubstantiated rumors, I heard Pete Carroll hired a new kicker, plus a Chupacabra to fill in for Clemons at defensive end.
