It's not stealing because all property belongs to everybody.

OR it's not stealing because "The Lord" owns everybody and thusly owns all our stuff.

OR it's not stealing because he was planning on giving it back.

OR it's not stealing because persuasion.

And the Lord has been robbing people ever since. He knew a good gig when he saw one.

And the lord told me exactly where to find your TV and your sterio here in your living room. His name be praised!

One wonders if he "needed it" in the biblical sense.

This explains all the juvenile delinquents I used to work with who told me "only God can judge me".

As this is prelude to the Palm Sunday story, He was only borrowing the colt- for less than a week!

@6 If Jesus sent a bunch of guys to borrow your car for a few days and they simply told you "The Lord needs it", you'd probably freak out.

Does anyone really know why he needs it? He made it all the way there and he can't walk for a little bit?

Obviously it's not stealing if the self-appointed spokesman of God is doing it. This is a long and storied tradition in all faiths and I'm shocked you would even question it!

Colt 45's some addictive shit, but the owner won't want it back as piss and spit.
Jesus' got a gun
Her dog day's just begun
Now everybody is on the run
Tell me now it's untrue.
What did her daddy do?
He jacked a little bitty baby
The man has got to be insane

I like it. It leads to a nice little syllogism...

Thou shalt not steal (unless the Lord needs it).
I am made in God's (the Lord's) image.
Therefore if I need it, it is not stealing.

The Biblical version of joyriding.

Or else fire the editor of the various books (I know, as if) because there was no attention paid to continuity. Sheesh!

Praise the lord those owners weren't Ted Nugent ancestors, they'd a opened up on 'em with their assault slingshots.

When the president does it, it's not illegal.

Said someone whom Ted Nugent backs to the hilt.

Luke comes after Exodus, so it is more contemporary. So it looks like "Thou shalt not steal" has been overturned.

I thought he rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Was the colt for somebody else? Or are they just having translation problems over there in jeezusland?
