Obviously it's not stealing if the self-appointed spokesman of God is doing it. This is a long and storied tradition in all faiths and I'm shocked you would even question it!

Luke comes after Exodus, so it is more contemporary. So it looks like "Thou shalt not steal" has been overturned.
