Schmader, maybe I'm too simple to get any subtleties that this "artist" is trying to include here, but I think it's more likely that you're giving Bil Keene too much credit. I don't think he ever shoots higher than the mark of "awwww..." in his cartoons.

That said, I have the same sort of feelings as @4.
